Luxurious And Relaxing Stay At Sparkling Hill Resort in BC
On a relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort in British Columbia (BC) we enjoyed a luxurious property, great spa services and awesome customer service at all touch points. We booked a full itinerary of spa services for our visit and found so many other great things to do at the Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa. We ate well on our 5 day stay. And left feeling refreshed and healthier than when we arrived. It was the perfect wellness break in the Okanagan Valley.
Planning Our Spa Break
The first time we visited Kelowna, we explored the Okanagan Valley. On our road trips in the area we discovered the Sparkling Hill Resort for the first time. Sparkling Hill Resort And Spa was owned by the Austrian crystal creator, Gernot Langes-Swarovski. The resort was known for the Swarovski crystal displays that adorned the property and the resort. We enjoyed our lunch with a view out over the Okanagan Lake. And we saw people in robes wandering everywhere. When we checked out the spa menu, we knew we wanted to return one day.

We started our travel year with a great Nordic Spa experience on our stay in Collingwood in Ontario. This experience convinced us to book another Nordic Spa experience when we visited Quebec City in the winter. So when we planned this return visit to BC, we knew we wanted to visit the Sparkling Hill Resort for a very different wellness experience.
All the services available at Sparkling Hill Resort were detailed online. We ultimately decided on a longer 5 day package that included all the resort facilities, a great lake view room, breakfast, dinner and four hours of spa services. There were also some naturopathic and esthetician services we added on.
Our Wellness Coordinator Denise contacted us well in advance of our stay to talk about our objectives and the KurSpa services we wanted. She worked with us to create a great itinerary for our visit. We ended up with a busy schedule aimed at pampering and wellness on our relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort.
Returning To The Sparkling Hill Resort
We were back in BC to visit family on the Sunshine Coast. On this trip, we found some new outdoor adventures and enjoyed a great variety of water experiences. From our stay on the Sunshine Coast, we headed to Kelowna and then north towards Vernon. We turned off Hwy 97 at the sign for Predator Ridge. Sparkling Hill Resort is on the large Predator Ridge property.
After leaving our rental car for valet parking, we went to check in. The reception team was all ready for our arrival. We were given an overview of the package we booked and the various things we needed to know about the resort.

The lobby area was wide open and inviting. Everywhere we looked we saw the stunning views the resort was known for. We found lots of seating in quiet areas to just take in that view.

A Great Room With A View
We booked a King Lake View Room and were happy with our large room on the top floor. The floor to ceiling windows looked out over Okanagan Lake. We had 2 comfy chairs and a soaking tub-for-two facing the view. Of course the room had touches of sparkling gems to carry the theme right into our room, both day and night.

On the bed we found our robes and slippers. At this spa resort, we wore robes everywhere on the property until dinner time. And I must admit I got very used to breakfast in the restaurant in my robe.
We were delighted with the special amenity of chocolate we got as a welcome. Our room was a great retreat for our relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort.

The Resort Sparkled Everywhere We Looked
After we were all settled in, we wandered around the resort. We were drawn to the sparking crystals used everywhere on the resort to decorate and carry the sparkling theme. We learned that there were over 3.5 million Swarovski crystals in the public areas, guest rooms and KurSpa area.
The sparkles started as soon as we drove up the road and continued when we walked into the lobby. Stairs, doors and even bathroom doors were set with crystals. Glass balls hung from the ceiling. And in the main dining room the crystal display was created in the shape of Okanagan Lake.

The KurSpa was decorated with crystals. And the relaxation rooms included more interesting crystal displays too. The uniquely themed saunas and steam rooms were adorned with more crystals!

We saw a large Heritage Crystal Tipee on the grounds. When we went close we saw that each side had a different design. Each of the original 16 art panels were sent to Austria and were reproduced with colourful inlaid crystals.

Even had we not visited for a relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort, we would have been entranced with the beautiful crystal art at this resort.
A Wide Range Of Water Services Available
We booked a number of clinical, spa and esthetician appointments for our visit. But even without this busy schedule, it was easy to fill our time when we visited the Sparkling Hill Resort.
A large indoor serenity pool could be used for exercise. Or simply for lying back and listening to the underwater music. Beside the indoor pool was a large indoor hot tub with powerful jets. The outdoor infinity edge pool looked out towards the lake. This heated pool with lounge chairs around it was a popular spot. There was even a sandy beach area with more lounge chairs.

In the pool area we found the Kneipp Walk. We walked slowly through shallow water-filled troughs that alternated between warm (38 degrees celsius) and very cold (12 degrees celsius) water. Hydrotherapy pools were supposed to be very good for circulation. On most days, twice a day we did 4 circuits around the Kneipp Walk.

The steam and sauna area opened from 2pm until 10pm every day. We tried 3 steam rooms, 3 dry sauna rooms, an icy Igloo room and the Aqua Mediation room. Each room was very different. The Finnish Sauna even had interesting art on the ceiling! We enjoyed alternating hot and cold rooms. And alternated steam and sauna rooms.

The “Experience Showers” offered multi-stream experiences and even a Thunder Rain shower with sound effects!

The water facilities were perfect on our relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort.
We Started Our Visit With Some Wellness Activities
We worked with our Spa Coordinator Denise before we arrived to plan an itinerary of services for our stay. She made sure to sequence our activities so we got the best therapeutic benefits. When we arrived she walked us through the different treatment rooms.
A visit with the Naturopathic Doctor started our stay. We got input related to general fitness and diet. A BodPod assessment provided us with information about body composition and an indicator of overall health. We are not sharing that information!

Our first KurSpa treatment was in the IceLab. We arrived in dry bathing suits and were outfitted with hats, gloves, slippers and a mask. This protected our extremities and our lungs in the very cold air. A detailed medical history was taken and a briefing was done on the process.

We moved quickly through 2 cold rooms before we spent 3 minutes walking in a medical freezer-like box at -113C or (-171 F). The longest 3 minutes ever! One ultra cold session would not really bring a lot of benefit. We were glad we tried this interesting cryotherapy. But we were not tempted to sign up for 10 sessions on this visit!
We had a healthy start to our relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort.
Some Interesting Spa Services On Our Relaxing Stay At Sparkling Hill Resort
Over the 4 days, David and I did a number of different KurSpa treatments. The Himalayan Salt Scrub started the detox process for us. Volcanic mud helped draw out toxins. Deep tissue massages worked out body aches. And a Lymphatic Drainage session finished up the detox ritual. David’s “Honey Detox” treatment was a bit painful and anything but sweet!
I normally avoided facials. But I booked a 90 minute Crystal Facial one afternoon. And I became a facial convert. I am sure I snored my way through part of the facial session. It was the most relaxing service experience. And David thought I looked better when I was done!
There were several services targeted at couples. We were interested in the Hammam room for couples after our first Hammam experience in Cordoba, Spain. But we did not get this booked on our first visit.

We were encouraged to replenish our fluids and rest between spa service. The Tea Room was our favourite spot to relax with a view and a cup of tea.

It was interesting to try so many different spa services. Not all of our choices contributed to a relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort. But it was the perfect time to get some very specialized services.
Outdoor Activities Too
There were a number of different fitness classes offered each day. There was a cost for each class but they were included for free with our package. Sadly we never fit in a class to our busy itinerary. We toured the onsite gym but did not get back there either.

If we wanted to get outside, there were a number of hiking paths around the property. Guided hikes were included in the fitness classes. And maps were available to wander on our own. Golf was also available at the nearby Predator Ridge.

On a relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort we could be as active as we wanted to or had time to include.
We Enjoyed Great Food And Drinks Treats
The package we booked included breakfast, coffee with a pastry snack mid-day and a 2 course dinner.
Our breakfast started with fruit and a bakery treat. We found lots of options on the menu for breakfast each day. And we often took a box away for a snack in the morning.

Mid-day we got coffee and a snack at Barrique & Java. There was a full barista coffee machine and a large case filled with yummy desserts baked on-site. This was our big indulgence most days.

Robes were totally acceptable attire during the day for breakfast, lunch and snack breaks in the main building. But for dinner, a smart casual attire was required. Dinner was served in the PeakFine dining room in the main building. We found a full menu of choices and a special seasonal 3 course meal. The main menu changed midway through our stay so we had great variety over our 5 day stay.

Dinner At Gerni’s Farmhouse
The second option we had for lunch or dinner was Gerni’s Farmhouse. Before we left the main building to head down the steep hill to Gerni’s, we saw the sign saying that robes were no longer acceptable. And we saw several people turned back when they ventured down in robes.
The Gerni’s timber-framed farmhouse was dismantled from the small Tyrolean village ‘Weerberg’ in 2019 and installed on the Sparkling Hill Resort property. We had a lovely dinner in this venue one night.

We ate very well on our relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort. The portions were very large and we often left our meals with food saved for later snacks. We were surprised there was no specific health menu at this wellness retreat. Especially after we met with the Naturopath. Many of the foods he told us to avoid were prominent on the menus.
Great Relaxing Stay At Sparkling Hill Resort in BC
We often booked travel adventures or long road trips that kept us going most days. But this relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort was so different for us. We loved the opportunity to live in our robes for most of 5 days and to move from treatment to treatment on the resort. There was a huge KurSpa offering and we picked a wide variety of services aimed at wellness. And a few pampering services too.
The Sparkling Hill Resort was a lovely spot to enjoy for 5 days. We spent many hours just lounging in our room looking out the window at the view. The crystal decor was beautiful and the resort had everything we needed to stay for 5 days.
Customer service at every touchpoint exceeded our expectations on this visit. The team went out of their way to welcome us by name, learn our preferences and provided helpful input into our daily choices. Every minute of our stay we felt quite pampered.
We had such a great relaxing break that we definitely will plan to return to the Sparkling Hill Resort. We were so glad we planned this wellness escape on our summer road trip in BC.

Looks like an amazing stay. I hadn’t heard of the Kneipp Walk before. For those with circulation issues, it sounds like it could be quite beneficial. I am not sure about trying the cryotherapy though…
We loved all the interesting spa services we found on our stay at Sparkling Hill.
This looks amazing. The food looks great and the view from the gym would motivate me to run on those tread mills!
The views were amazing at Sparkling Hill. Great motivation and relaxing spots made this resort perfect.
The food, the views everything looks perfect. I love that they reached out ahead of time to make the itinerary with you! this sounds like the perfect place to relax.
The customer service was great since first contact. And the resort sure delivered on the luxury spa experiences we looked for.
I’ve actually had this place bookmarked for a while because it looks so amazing! BC is a stunning province and there’s so much to see and do there. It looks like you had a wonderful time at Sparkling Hill, I’m so glad.
We had a short visit for lunch and knew we would be back. We were happy we planned a longer stay so we really could enjoy all there was to offer. Hope you get to visit.
Oh my, this looks like a divine and relaxing getaway. Also, THE FOOD LOOKS INCREDIBLE! Wow. I’d love to stay here!
We went to the Sparkling Hill Resort for the spa services. And were delighted with the food we found. Lots of great reasons to visit.
5 days of bliss! That KurSpa has so many different treatments. I like the idea of wearing a robe for most meals, easy and relaxing after the therapy. The BodPod sounds like an interesting device and they have a naturopath. I must say the idea of being in the midst of 3.5 million Swarovski crystals and getting a crystal facial sounds really dreamy.
Sparking Hill was a lovely spot for a relaxing spa getaway. We were glad we tried a variety of treatments on our stay. Definitely a trip to repeat.
I enjoy visiting spa resorts too and after many days backpacking or sleeping rough there is nothing better than visiting a spa to relax. Adding Sparkling Hill Resort to my list.
We often don’t enjoy the spa facilities that are available on our travels. So it was great to plan this stay at Sparking Hill and book a full spa agenda. A perfect break on our travels.
I would be in heaven at this resort—masssges, mud baths, facials, indoor pool, and walking trails. Sign me up! We all need these “go slow” vacations to recharge our batteries—whether 60 years old or 20!
Our stay at Sparkling Hill was a reminder that we need to do spa vacations more and really just re-charge. We loved the great variety of spa services offered – even if not all of them were totally relaxing they were good for our health!
What an amazing resort! I loved your pictures and learned so much. It definitely makes me want to pay a visit
I am glad my post and pics helped you to get a good look at the Sparking Hill Resort. We were sure glad we stayed for a few days.
Great information! Do you know if there’s price differences throughout the year? An off season maybe? I’m just a province away and would love to take advantage of this neat facility in the future!
The Sparkling Hill Resort offers a bunch of different packages. And I am sure the prices vary by time of year. We would definitely head back in off season for a return visit.
This looks like the perfect place to relax. I love how the name of the resort, the owner and the Swarovskis in the resort all tie in with each other. The welcome chocolate platter looks delicious too.
We were amazed with the sparkly the first time we saw Sparking Hill Resort. One of the reasons we planned a return visit. And we were so glad we found so many great spa services to keep us busy for 5 days.
I have not been to Canada, so I have not stayed at Sparkling Hill Resort & Spa in BC. It looks like an amazing experience. I think it’s great to combine spa procedures with a relaxing hotel and stunning natural surroundings! Perfect photos and an in-depth story as always! Thanks for sharing!
We were happy to spend a few days at the Sparking Hill Resort. It was indeed an amazing experience. And good for us to take some down time and really enjoy it!
What a stunning resort! I love everything about it, but mostly I love those views. It’s gotta be hard not to relax when you can see that all day every day!
We too loved the views and spent many hours just taking it in at all times of day. A great environment for relaxing.
Wow! A much-needed break. I want to experience what an aqua meditation looks like. It sounds so therapeutic.
We did indeed enjoy a much-needed break from our normal busy travels. And Sparking Hill Resort was the perfect spot.
What a dream place to stay! Both views and design are just wow! I feel like that Tea Room would be one of my favorite sports as well!
We were definitely pleased we booked a stay at the Sparkling Hill Resort. Great spa, good food, awesome views and customer service too. We could not ask for more in a luxury resort.
wow, what a gorgeous hotel! that view is amazing and I love all the crystals. I don’t have much experience with spa treatments, but I’m definitely intrigued after reading this post! pinned it for a future visit 🙂
We pass on spa treatments far too many times. So we were glad we booked this spa retreat and had a great time.
Wow, the view from this spa alone makes it a spectacular stay, but it looks like there’s so much great food and relaxation here, too. Wonderful!
It was great to enjoy our spa visit in a spot that had it all. A true relaxing break.
I visited the Swarovski World in Austria, so it was interesting to read about the Sparkling Hill Resort in BC. Crazy that they have a restaurant in an Austrian hut there. Was the Ice Lab very cold? I would like to try that.
We enjoyed such a great stay at the Sparkling Hill Resort. The “sparkle” sure made it different. And we loved the great variety in the spa treatments. The Ice Lab was VERY cold. One treatment really did not have major benefits but we really just wanted to know what it felt like.
I enjoyed reading about your relaxing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort. I’ve treated myself to spa days before, but nothing like this luxurious experience. The crystal decor everywhere, especially on the ceilings and in the spa and relaxation rooms, is stunning and truly lives up to the resort’s name. The outdoor heated infinity pool overlooking the lake is definitely something I would love to experience.
We were very glad we treated ourselves to this stunning spa retreat. Definitely a great break in a lovely spot.
Wow! What an amazing experience! The Sparkling hill resort sure sparkles with the Swarovski crystals everywhere. I love the idea of the bod pod assessment and treatment in the IceLab. Every painting and display here looks totally artistic! I would love to spend sometime here and enjoy the resort someday. 🙂
We loved enjoying the Sparkling Hill Resort while we did some spa treatments. It was great to take the downtime and just relax for a few days.
Well, this is right up our alley – we love spas and wellness getaways especially when it turns chilly. Sparkling Hill resort looks very luxurious and full of pampering treatments to experience and fill the time with. I adore heated pools and saunas – and the fact that they decorated it with crystals is so cool. THat and especially the views are definitely captivating enough to note this resort down if i ever get to BC.
The Sparkling Hill Resort was definitely a great spot for a spa treat in amazing surroundings. We will return for sure.
It looks like you’ve had an amazing stay at Sparkling Hill Resort, which seems the perfect place to go for a relaxing spa weekend. The views from your room are to die for! And the spa has so many amazing experiences, like the indoor and the outdoor pools. I love that there is a machine that tells how healthy you are. The farmhouse restaurants indeed looks like a little piece of Austria in Canada. How amazing that the building was brought all the way from Tirol!
We loved all parts of the Sparkling Hill Resort. A great spa with amazing treatments. And an amazing setting too.
Oh my goodness! The Bod Pod looks so fun and interesting. I really want to try that. I also really like that you had a contact beforehand to discuss your goals and the types of services you want. I usually don’t book spa services until I’m at a property, but I’ve never gone to a resort that specified in spa services. If I’m ever in BC, I’ll give Sparkling Hill Resort a try (and yes, I’ll schedule everything beforehand). What a great, relaxing time you had!
It was great to have several discussions before we arrived to ensure we planned a spa itinerary that really worked for us. But we probably built a bit too busy agenda to try it all. But a great reason for us to go back to Sparking Hill Resort.
Wow! This place is wonderful. Aside from the beautiful view, the Swarovski crystal display is magnificent.
I would definitely love to go on a wellness staycation. It is so nice that they offer a lot of spa services. Now I am curious about what it feels like to be inside the IceLab.
It was great to enjoy this wellness stay at the Sparkling Hill Resort. A lovely spot, great views and such variety in the spa services.
